Terra Fume Walnut is shaped through the ancestral European art of deep fuming, where walnut is exposed to natural tannin-reactive vapours inside sealed aging chambers. The logs rest in these chambers for days, allowing the grain to develop a terra-mottled depth and a grey-brown tonal spectrum rarely seen in standard walnut.

Prior to fuming, the wood is conditioned with alternating heat cycles, a craft technique that relaxes internal stresses and encourages the walnut’s grain architecture to sharpen. Once sliced, the veneer reveals a beautiful close-to-wide grain modulation, creating a compelling rhythm across the sheet.
